Bio:
I took Maggie in as a stray. Unfortunately, she wasn't microchipped so I couldn't find out much about her.
I had her checked at the vet. She tested negative for FIV and FeLV, she is now fully vaccinated, and she is now microchipped to me. I do not know if she is neutered, but she hasn't gone on heat in her 3.5 months with me.

The vet estimated Maggie as 8-10 years old. They said her teeth were in great condition. She is quite a big cat - we wondered if she has some Norwegian Forest cat in her.

Maggie is a calm girl. Like any cat who has been through a lot, she was a little wary of us at first and took some time to decompress, but she has been remarkably happy with regular food, a few toys and some den hideaway beds. She loves to purr, wiggles her tail in excitement to say hello, and is happy snoozing and watching the world go by out of the window. She enjoys strokes on her own terms, and plays a little. She is a lovely low maintenance girl, who just needs someone patient to love her, as she has obviously been through a lot.

She doesn't enjoy being around the other cats in foster care, so we feel it is better for her to find a home without other pets. She has done well with calm children who know to give her some space. She didn't react to dogs at the vet, so it is possible she has lived with dogs in the past, but I don't think I would risk that.

Maggie has long fur, and so she does occasionally get matts. She hasn't liked much help with these so far, but it may be that given time she will be happy to have regular combing sessions. She hasn't minded a light brush, but no more than that yet. She occasional coughs/vomits up hairballs (about once every 10 days or so), which we have started addressing with hairball specific dry food.

I would recommend a pet-free home, preferably with experienced cat owners who will read her signals. I think she would be fine as an indoor cat, as she hasn't tended to wander far within our house. She doesn't mind being left on her own for a few hours at a time, but if you sit in the room with her she will really enjoy it and purr away even if you aren't giving her direct attention.
Maggie has been let down by humans in the past, I hope we can find her a secure future.
